Survival: Redefining "Food"

Shouldn't dogs be disemboweled before drying?? It seems the drying process would go much more smoothly without bloating.

How long do dried scorpions keep? Should those of us in arid climates keep plenty of flat rocks in their yards for "food" to hide under. When hungry, simply flip a rock!
